Position Duties:

Use hand tools and power tools to cut and shape sheet metal for duct and fittings.
Open shop daily.
Check shop inbox daily to review the need for emergency fittings.
Complete all shop fittings on or under budgeted labor hours.
Assist with preparing job estimates and other projects as needed.
Assist other shop personnel with completing shop fittings on a timely basis.
Ensure all fittings are ready by 7:30 AM for smooth dispatch of work crews.
Keep all machinery and equipment maintained and fully operational.
Ensure that anyone entering the shop fabrication area has proper eye protection and follows all company safety policies.
Complete paperwork to record all hours and materials used per job and submit to accounting department.
Review schedule for upcoming jobs to confirm that all shop lists have been turned in for fabrication, notifying shop foreman if lists are missing.
Maintain required levels of shop stock items, informing warehouse staff of any shop stocking items needed.
Assist warehouse staff if needed with stocking, pilling jobs, or deliveries.
Keep the entire shop area neat, organized, and free of scrap and debris.
Help maintain profitability within the shop.
