Job Title: Instructional Designer

Location: Memphis, TN | Hybrid

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to lead the design, development, and delivery of online learning content for our Learning Management System (LMS). This role focuses on creating engaging, high-quality courses, collaborating with internal staff and volunteers, and advancing innovative teaching and learning strategies.

The Instructional Designer will report to the Director of Education & Scientific Affairs and work closely with committees and stakeholders to ensure courses are accurate, accessible, and impactful. This is a hybrid position. In-person participation in several on-site events each year is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design, development, revision, and maintenance of LMS content.
  • Manage online learning committees and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure course accuracy and implement structured review cycles.
  • Collaborate with LMS programmers and participate in software review.
  • Review learning materials for accessibility and best practices.
  • Support additional departmental educational projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in conferences, meetings, presentations, and webinars as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning Technologies, Instructional Design, Educational Media, Curriculum & Instruction, or a closely related field. Instructional Design certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in course design and development, multimedia and eLearning tools, LMS management, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with professional interpersonal abilities.
  • Intermediate to advanced LMS skills; intermediate HTML5 and CSS knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and project management tools.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
