Qualifications

• Must pass a criminal background check and MVR checks
• Proof of automobile insurance
• Valid state drivers license
• Bachelor's Degree in Music with a concentration in Music Therapy and must meet all educational requirements
• License in the State of Michigan

Responsibilities

• Consult with interdisciplinary team about patient referrals to assess needs and prioritize intervention
• Assess music therapy needs of patients/family and provide music therapy services to the hospice patients and their families, as appropriate
• Plan structure music therapy sessions to achieve appropriate transitions, pacing, sequencing, energy level, or intensity, in accordance with treatment plan
• Must be certified and willing to travel within a territory to complete requested Music Therapy sessions with our hospice patients
• Performs accurate and comprehensive music therapy assessments 
• Analyze data to determine the effectiveness of specific treatments or therapy approaches
• Review research or literature in music therapy or related disciplines
• Communicate patient assessment finding and recommendation in oral, written, audio, or other forms
• Confer with professionals on patient's treatments team to develop, coordinate or integrate treatment plans,
• Establish patient goals or objectives for music therapy treatment, considering patient needs, capabilities, interests, overall therapeutic program, coordination of treatment, or length of treatment. 
• Play musical instruments, such as keyboard, guitar, or percussion instruments
