Phlebotomist - Float at Labcorp summary:

The Float Phlebotomist at LabCorp performs blood collections using various techniques across multiple locations, serving patients of all ages. The role involves specimen preparation, data entry, billing, and providing excellent customer service while traveling to different sites. Candidates should have phlebotomy certification, relevant experience, and the flexibility to work variable hours including some weekends.

As a Float Phlebotomist , you will have the opportunity to quickly gain a vast amount of experience. You will be working with a variety of patients, team members, and clinics/locations. Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday hours will vary based on coverage needs between 7am – 7pm; Rotating Saturdays may be requested as needed

Work Location: Richardson, TX and surrounding areas (Garland, Sachse)

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO. For more detailed information, please  .  

PST’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups

• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.

• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

• Process billing information and collect payments when required

• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis

• Maintain patient and specimen information logs

• Provide superior customer service to all patients

• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary

• Travel to additional sites when needed

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is preferred

• Previous experience as a phlebotomist. At least 2 years strong phlebotomy experience preferred

• Must have pediatric - geriatric patient experience

• Must be able to work in fast paced / high volume work environments.

• Must have a Valid Driver's License and good driving record

• Must be at least 21 years’ old

• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service

• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently or in a team environment

• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

• Reliable transportation and clean driving record

• Flexibility to work overtime as needed

• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
