Overview Asakura Robinson is seeking a senior landscape architect to join our team with a focus on community-based and public-facing projects. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, mission-driven landscape architect who demonstrates strong design acumen, solid technical skills, and a deep interest in working with historically underserved communities and environmental and social ecosystems. This is an opportunity to work with other senior staff in the firm to lead a strong and creative office culture and contribute to building meaningful projects that shape public space, restore ecological systems, and empower communities. Base pay range $75,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr What We’re Looking For Passionate about design and dedicated as a professional designer, experienced in leading a design team in mission and goal-driven projects to successful outcomes Attentive and lead the team in the integrity of the professional craftsmanship Drawn to and participation in the arts and culture scenes, and encouraging others to explore more creative thinking Concerned and involved in social and environmental issues surrounding our communities, leading the conversations in the team and the community Active in professional organizations , presenting and sharing ideas and professional experiences, guiding the organizations Engaged in communities , especially those historically marginalized or underserved to understand and be trusted in the communities as a contributor Understanding of challenges facing the profession and seeking new ideas to bring opportunities Rooted in a teamwork environment to solve problems Demonstrating entrepreneurial understanding of managing the consulting-based design business Creative, collaborative leader, and able to contribute to our improvisational and transdisciplinary teamwork environment Excellent in critical thinking and organizational skills Excellent in people skills, empathetic, with a high degree of emotional intelligence and reciprocity thinking as a leader Strongly self-motivated, energetic, responsible, reliable, flexible, and resourceful Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture or related field 10+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering software (SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion, etc.) Strong graphic communication and conceptual design skills Working knowledge of sustainable communities and green infrastructure practice Working knowledge of landscape design and construction; technically proficient with experience in construction documentation and detailing Experience in community engagement, participatory design, or public realm projects is a strong plus Experience in Project and Design Studio management Experience in Client Management Experience in well-written and regarded reports, white paper presentations, and other publications Experience in successful business development, public presentations, and interviews Licensure in Landscape Architecture Additional Desired Skills Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM), Bluebeam, and GIS mapping Fluency in written and spoken English is required Why Join Us? 120 hours paid time off per year 15 paid holidays 40 hours of professional development per year Professional development allowance 401(k) employer matching contributions Health insurance/wellness allowance Work on high-impact, value-driven projects Collaborate in a mission-aligned, team-oriented environment Engage in professional growth and mentoring Help shape the future of equitable, regenerative design About Asakura Robinson We are a transdisciplinary professional office—a collaborative and interactive workspace where team members contribute and integrate diverse knowledge, skills, methods, and perspectives to co-create holistic solutions.
