*Overview*
A government organization is seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to support its mission of protecting public-sector systems, data, and infrastructure. *Responsibilities*
* Monitor, assess, and respond to cybersecurity alerts and incidents using Splunk and other SIEM tools
* Investigate and document malicious activity, vulnerabilities, and intrusions
* Assist with threat hunting and proactive defense strategies across IT environments
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify and address security gaps
* Conduct Safeguard reviews of third-party vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with security standards
* Stay up to date with evolving cyber threats and mitigation strategies
*Qualifications*
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in SOC operations or a related cybersecurity role
* Hands-on expertise with Splunk and familiarity with additional SIEM platforms
* Strong foundational knowledge of network security, endpoint protection, and threat intelligence
* Understanding of security compliance frameworks such as NIST or ISO
* Clear and effective communication skills
* Must reside in the Atlanta metro area and be available for on-site work 1–2 days per week
*Preferred Skills*
* Experience supporting government or critical infrastructure systems
* Scripting or automation capabilities (Python, PowerShell, etc.)
* Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, or similar credentials
